OVERVIEW - CHOPPIES ENTERPRISES LTD

Choppies is the leading supermarket chain in Botswana and opened its first store in 1986 in Lobatse. The group operates in Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe. The group has 274 stores at September 2023 including 177 grocery retail stores, 70 liquor stand-alone stores and 27 hardware stand-alone stores. Each week, approximately 2.0 million customers visit 274 stores under five formats in four countries. With annual revenue of more than BWP6 billion, Choppies employs 10 000 people and is the largest grocery retailer in Southern Africa, outside of South Africa.
